Attendees will learn how to use Utah Compose to best teach and improve writing. Utah Compose, as many teachers have learned, is merely a tool to help English/Language Arts teachers. However, if used correctly, Utah Compose can be a valuable tool to teach students where their writing most needs improving. This session will include generating reports using Utah Compose and working with actual essays from Utah Compose. The work done with them will involve teaching students how to read their own report as well as incorporating essay corrections pages to teach students how to improve their writing. Mini-lessons on those topics will also be available if time allows.
Elinda Nedreberg has been teaching English/Language Arts in the Davis School District for eight years. She enjoys incorporating technology in her instruction, and does so as much as budgets and time allow.
