“Tough” kids. We all have them, and though we try not to use labels, you know exactly which kids I’m talking about when I say “tough”. I have a classroom full of the “toughest” kids in my district, grades K-3, and I have to tell you, they’re the best kids. They offer the greatest challenge to us as teachers, and therefore the greatest reward. The secret: when you find something that works for them, ALL of your students will benefit! So, come explore with me some tools that I have found that work wonders with and for my students.
